One of Delta’s most exciting sporting events will return this summer as the Tour de Delta cycling festival brings professional racers and spectators to the community for a weekend of high-speed competition.

“Expected to take place July 3–5, 2026.”

The event has grown into one of British Columbia’s premier cycling races, attracting elite cyclists from Canada and around the world. Each year the festival transforms the streets of Ladner and North Delta into professional race circuits, drawing enthusiastic crowds who line the route to watch the action.

The Tour de Delta typically features several races over the course of the weekend, including fast-paced criterium races through the streets of Ladner Village and North Delta. These short-circuit races are known for their tight corners, high speeds, and exciting sprint finishes.

Spectators can watch professional riders navigate the courses while enjoying the festival atmosphere that develops around the event. Local businesses often join the celebration by hosting sidewalk patios, vendor booths, and special promotions during the race weekend.

For Ladner Village in particular, the race brings a noticeable increase in visitors as cycling fans travel to the community to watch the competition and experience the unique setting of the historic waterfront district.

Events like the Tour de Delta also highlight the region’s growing reputation as a destination for outdoor recreation and cycling. With scenic coastal roads, agricultural landscapes, and accessible routes throughout the area, Delta has become a popular location for both recreational and competitive cyclists.

Beyond the excitement of the race itself, the event provides an opportunity for residents to experience world-class athletic competition right in their own community.

Organizers are expected to announce the full race schedule and course details closer to the event date.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to mark the race weekend on their calendars and experience the energy of one of Delta’s most dynamic sporting events.
