One of Delta’s longest-running community traditions is set to return this spring as the Ladner May Days Festival prepares to welcome residents and visitors to Memorial Park and Ladner Village.

Held annually on the Victoria Day long weekend, the Ladner May Days Festival has been a highlight of the South Delta calendar for more than a century. The event celebrates community spirit with a combination of family activities, live entertainment, carnival rides, and the popular May Days parade through Ladner Village.

The festival typically draws thousands of visitors to the area, making it one of the largest community gatherings in Delta each year.

One of the most anticipated features of the weekend is the May Days Parade, where community organizations, schools, businesses, and local clubs create colorful floats and march through the streets of Ladner. Families line the route to watch the procession and celebrate the start of the summer season.

Memorial Park becomes the center of activity during the festival weekend. Visitors can enjoy carnival rides, games, food vendors, and live music performances throughout the event. Local organizations and businesses also participate with booths, displays, and community demonstrations.

For many residents, the festival is more than just entertainment. It is an opportunity to reconnect with neighbors, support local groups, and celebrate the unique character of Ladner.

Events like May Days also bring significant economic activity to the area. Restaurants, cafes, and retail shops in Ladner Village typically see increased traffic as visitors explore the historic waterfront community during the festival weekend.

Local businesses often take advantage of the event by hosting sidewalk sales, extended hours, and special promotions to welcome the additional visitors.

The Ladner May Days Festival has been part of the community for generations and continues to reflect the agricultural and maritime heritage that helped shape South Delta.

Organizers are expected to release the full event schedule closer to the festival weekend, including parade details, entertainment lineups, and activity schedules.

Residents interested in attending are encouraged to mark the Victoria Day weekend on their calendars and plan to visit Ladner Village for one of Delta’s most cherished annual celebrations.
